Aberdeen Hall has a strong relationship with our parents and partners, and we provide an excellent educational experience for their children. We have built the school around the following core principles:
Our specialized teachers are passionate about education and our students. We offer a unique global curriculum that includes daily core instruction, starting in Kindergarten, with classes in French, music and physical education. Our goal is to guide our students to focus on, and master, the core skills of reading, writing and arithmetic along with developing a true appreciation of the arts, health and character education.
We take pride in a community setting where we recognize and meet our students' individual needs with small class sizes and personal attention. Every student is respected and valued at Aberdeen Hall.
We encourage you to visit our campus, walk the halls, and meet our students and staff. We look forward to meeting you!
Dear Aberdeen Hall Community Members, How are you doing? How can we help? At the moment, all of us are dealing with the challenges of isolating, combined with our shared concerns about the future. This isolation is going to take 1-2 months at a minimum, and it is important that we start settling in for what is going to be a heck of a battle. We have a great challenge ahead, and I am up for that challenge. If you need something, or someone to talk to, please contact me directly, and I will do what I can to assist.
As you may be aware, on Tuesday, March 17, the BC Ministry of Education announced the indefinite suspension of in-class instruction in BC schools. This means that after spring break, Aberdeen Hall will be teaching our students through remote learning. In the next few days, we will be sending an additional update with greater details about our remote teaching plans for the foreseeable future. Our goal is to deliver all of the BC curriculum requirements. This plan requires a fair amount of professional development, and will take a few weeks to evolve fully. At this point, we are planning on launching our online classes on March 31, 2020.
Just what are the "Team 2021" t-shirts all about? Thank you to our awesome Director of Athletics Mr. Gareau and his wife, Junior School Resource Teacher, Mrs. Gareau for not only donating personally to the campaign for the Athletics and Wellness Centre but for taking their support one step further with the "Team 2021" tee-shirt initiative
In November, Ms. Dunn and Mr. Acree accompanied 14 of our students to Guatemala for Aberdeen Hall’s inaugural service-learning trip to Project Somos. Project Somos supports indigenous families and children living in extreme poverty in rural Guatemala. They provide quality education and healthy meals to these families in an eco-sustainable community known as The Children’s Village. Their mission is to give children the opportunity to break the vicious cycle of poverty for themselves and future generations In their time at The Project, our students rolled up their sleeves, working in the fields, preparing snacks and meals in the kitchen, cleaning, and most importantly interacting with the children at Project Somos.
